"The children's home is a place where heart children are given a chance to be reborn"
Jerusalem Childrens Home
“Jerusalem Hills” Institutions for Inpatient Treatment is a unique institution which is a warm home and treatment center for about 100 boys and girls, high-risk children between the ages of 7 and 15. “Jerusalem Mountains” provides children and teenagers with a wide variety of unique treatment frameworks that are adapted to the specific needs of each patient.
The children come from all sectors of Israeli society, but they have one thing in common: each of them is a victim of emotional, physical or sexual abuse; neglect; Rejection; or abandonment. Each child has his or her personal story, which is often heartbreaking. From an early age, the children learned to hide their fear and despair behind a mask of anger and mistrust that is usually accompanied by aggressive and destructive behavior. Often the “Jerusalem Mountains” are a last rehabilitation opportunity for the child before hospitalization or imprisonment and provide the child with an opportunity to integrate back into normative society.
“Jerusalem Mountains” institutions for inpatient treatment was founded in 1943. Since then, the children’s home and the center for treatment and training have established themselves and achieved unprecedented success in the rehabilitation and integration of over two thousand of its graduates into normative Israeli society. The success of “Jerusalem Mountains” lies in the unique treatment programs and the community projects that have won local and international praise.
